At Jesus' baptism, all three are present together: the Son in the water, the Spirit descending like a dove, and the Father speaking from heaven. Jesus commanded baptism in the single name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the Spirit is described with the same divine attributes as the Father and Son. This is a mystery beyond full human comprehension, but it shapes how believers understand God's nature as inherently relational and loving, even before creation existed.
These themes are best read through the whole testimony of Scripture, emphasizing God's self-revelation in Christ, the active ministry of the Holy Spirit, and the restoration of the whole person. Bible study should lead to a changed life, compassionate service, and a clearer picture of God's loving character.
