Scripture reserves sexual intimacy for the covenant of marriage between husband and wife, calling unmarried believers to purity and self-control. Those who have crossed this boundary are offered genuine forgiveness and a renewed path of purity through grace.
From the beginning, Genesis describes a man and woman becoming 'one flesh' within the covenant of marriage, and the New Testament reinforces this pattern by calling believers to abstain from sexual immorality and to control their bodies in holiness and honor rather than in the passion of uncontrolled desire. Hebrews states plainly that the marriage bed is undefiled but that God will judge sexual immorality outside of it, and Paul teaches that sexual union itself creates a profound, uniting bond meant to be reserved for marriage. This is never presented as a barrier to full acceptance for those who have already crossed this line; grace fully forgives, and believers are called forward into ongoing growth in purity, self-control, and honoring both their own body and a future spouse.
Discipleship applies the gospel to the whole life: body, mind, relationships, work, finances, and worship. Healthy choices and faithful habits do not earn salvation; they are grateful stewardship of the life God has entrusted to us and practical ways to serve others.
