Temptation itself is not sin, and every person — regardless of their struggles — bears God's image and is offered the same grace and dignity.
From creation, Scripture presents marriage as a covenant between a man and a woman becoming one flesh, and passages such as Romans 1 and 1 Corinthians 6 name same-sex sexual activity among behaviors that fall outside God's design for intimacy. It is important to distinguish attraction or temptation, which is not itself sin, from chosen behavior. Scripture is equally clear that no struggle places a person beyond grace: 1 Corinthians 6:11 tells believers who once lived in various sins, 'such were some of you,' before describing how they were washed, sanctified, and justified in Christ. Every person carries the image of God and deserves to be treated with compassion, respect, and welcome in the church community. Like every other believer, those who experience same-sex attraction are called to grow in Christlike character through the Spirit's ongoing, patient work, not to be singled out, shamed, or excluded.
Discipleship applies the gospel to the whole life: body, mind, relationships, work, finances, and worship. Healthy choices and faithful habits do not earn salvation; they are grateful stewardship of the life God has entrusted to us and practical ways to serve others.
