How can I overcome temptation?

The Bible promises that God provides a way of escape from every temptation and that His strength, not willpower alone, enables believers to resist sin and grow in godliness.

Paul's promise that God will always provide a way of escape from temptation means no one faces an impossible situation — help is always available, even when it does not feel that way. Jesus modeled the pattern for resisting temptation Himself, responding to each test in the wilderness with Scripture rather than self-effort alone. Practically, this means knowing God's Word well enough to recall it under pressure, avoiding known triggers where possible, staying honest with trusted others for accountability, and depending on the Spirit's strength rather than relying solely on willpower, which tends to run out.

Discipleship applies the gospel to the whole life: body, mind, relationships, work, finances, and worship. Healthy choices and faithful habits do not earn salvation; they are grateful stewardship of the life God has entrusted to us and practical ways to serve others.
