Biblical explanation
The Bible presents God as the Creator, Sustainer, and rightful ruler of all things. Everything that exists ultimately depends upon Him. Genesis 1:1 establishes God before creation itself. John 1:1-3 similarly teaches that all things were made through the Word, and that "without him was not any thing made that was made." Creation therefore points beyond itself to a Creator. Psalm 14:1 describes the fool as saying in his heart, "There is no God," while Hebrews 11:6 teaches that anyone who comes to God must believe that He is and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Faith in God is not presented as blind acceptance of an unknowable idea. Scripture repeatedly invites people to observe God's works, His creation, His character, His fulfilled promises, and His dealings with humanity. The Bible also teaches that God has revealed Himself personally. Jesus Christ is described as the revelation of God to humanity (John 1:14, 18; John 14:9). Scripture clearly teaches that God exists and that He created all things. It does not give a scientific formula proving God's existence. Instead, it presents God's existence as foundational truth and gives multiple lines of testimony through creation, revelation, prophecy, and the life of Jesus Christ.
