When Peter asked whether forgiving seven times was enough, Jesus answered with a number meant to remove any ceiling on forgiveness. This does not mean ignoring harm or pretending a pattern of abuse is healthy; Scripture also commends confronting sin honestly and, where needed, limiting access to protect oneself or others. Forgiveness releases personal vengeance to God and refuses to let bitterness take root, but it can coexist with firm boundaries, seeking outside help, and waiting for evidence of real change before rebuilding trust.
Discipleship applies the gospel to the whole life: body, mind, relationships, work, finances, and worship. Healthy choices and faithful habits do not earn salvation; they are grateful stewardship of the life God has entrusted to us and practical ways to serve others.
