Hope and Prophecy

Why does the sanctuary message matter today?

The sanctuary message matters because it shows how God deals with sin through Christ's sacrifice, priestly ministry, judgment, cleansing, and final restoration.

The sanctuary message matters because it shows how God deals with sin through Christ's sacrifice, priestly ministry, judgment, cleansing, and final restoration.

The earthly sanctuary was a living illustration of the gospel. Its sacrifices pointed forward to Jesus' death, its priestly ministry pointed to His intercession, and its Day of Atonement pointed to God's final work of cleansing and judgment. This message matters today because it gives believers assurance that Christ's ministry did not end at the cross; He continues to apply the benefits of His sacrifice, represent His people, and prepare the universe for the complete end of sin. The sanctuary keeps salvation centered on Jesus from beginning to end.

The great controversy reveals God's character as Christ ministers as our High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary. The dead await the resurrection, Christ's return will be visible and personal, and prophecy calls believers to faithful mission rather than date-setting or fear.
