Biblical explanation
Genesis describes a world in which God created land animals: "And God made the beast of the earth after his kind." Genesis 1:25 Genesis 6 then describes a world filled with violence and corruption, followed by the Flood. The Flood destroyed terrestrial life outside the ark: "And all flesh died that moved upon the earth." Genesis 7:21 After the Flood, Scripture describes a dramatically changed human environment. However, the Bible never says: "Dinosaurs became extinct because of the Flood." That conclusion goes beyond the explicit text. The Bible does not provide a detailed extinction history for dinosaurs. It gives the theological history of creation, sin, judgment, redemption, and restoration rather than a complete paleontological record.
